In November, our colony was hit with a devastating outbreak of bordetella brought in by a roommate's dog after receiving the live bordetella nasal vaccine. We suffered many losses, but our colony has now been stabilized and we are beginning the process of clearing the bacteria from our lines. This process unfortunately takes many months with lots of hard work and PCR testing, so for the safety of our lines and others, we are temporarily closed until our colony is testing fully negative. We hope to re-open again this summer.
